Did you discover APHND independently, or did you find them based on the members' other projects (Type O, Life of Agony, Uranium...)?
Type O has been my favorite band for 17 years, so any other projects by those guys automatically interested me.

Permalink Reply by Miguel Nunez on February 4, 2012 at 4:34pm Although I did listen to some of Type O, I actually found out about these guys through the Music Choice metal channel. They were playing As Black As My Heart and I automatically felt a connection. It was about a month later that I found out the relation between the bands, haha.
Permalink Reply by Teardrop on February 4, 2012 at 4:39pm Stumbled upon you guys on Last.fm.
I thought your name sounded interesting and gave you a listen.
Only found out later that it was Sal singing.
I've been a TON freak since 1994 and followed them and every side project and stuff all along, just to be sure not to miss ANYTHING. And I think I heard of APHND first through myspace.... might have been something like Sal being in 'My mortality' asking people in a bulletin to check out his new project APHND.... Can't remember the details, but I can remember that it was LÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅVE at first *sight*.... with both APHND and Seventh Void...

Years ago I was going through a somewhat dramatic crisis when an unexpected twist of fate brought a Bloody Kisses CD into my possession... I had never heard anything like it. It was as if my misery had found an understanding companion. I put the CD on repeat and left it playing for months. Then I bought Origin of the Feces, As time went on October Rust came out and I bought it right away, then World Coming Down, The Least Worst of, Life is Killing Me, and Dead again. Then when I was impatiently waiting to see what was next - I got the news that Pete was dead again. At first I thought it was just a game, but then the truth sank in deep. I know I am just a fan and it is not the same for me as it was for the band and Pete's family. My heart went out to them. I got really depressed over Pete's death, it still bothers me. I still listen to Type O but its not the same, everything just changed. I had memorized the lyrics of every song, but the words started to take on a whole different meaning after Pete died. It was like I could see a message that had been there all along hidden in plain sight that was only meant to be understood if synchronicity showed it to you. Anyway I thought about the band a lot the last couple of years but never tried to find out what had happened, and around Pete's birthday I was watching old home movies of Type O behind the scenes and stuff - and I started wondering if there was anything leftover, like unreleased stuff. I didn't find any, but I was searching on Youtube and found SAL's APHND Youtube channel and his twitter... for a minute the universe started to seem upside down again... Since then I have checked out Seventh Void, followed some of you guy's on twitter, and joined APHND here, so now I'm just waiting to see what happens next, I have a lot of catching up to do... I'm Really looking forward to SAL's new album next year - He is truly a mammoth talent! Its amazing to hear his own creations, it gives a lot of insight into how much influence he had in the creation of Type O's sound. His APHND album just blew me away. I am listening to Black as my Heart right this minute.

Permalink Reply by Inanimate Assault on March 19, 2012 at 8:16am Hey Derek... Thanks for that! It means a lot bro. Sal and the guys from Type O got me through the hardest times in my life with their music, funny how far reaching the effect of art can be. I am just glad we were all alive at the same time once and I got to enjoy their unique talent. This website it like a diamond in the endless field of shit that the internet is... I am really glad Sal took the time to do this for his fans.
