I found a review of the album in Terrorizer. Not a good one but worth a look anyway!

Ignore the Pythonesque clattering hooves that lead us into the debut album from A Pale Horse Named Death. Or maybe not. It is, after all, a sympton of an album that is, almost brilliant, but not quite. and its the not quite that makes it almost, almost a bad album. The pedigree is here with Sal Abrusscato (sic) of Life of Agony and Type O Negative and Biohazard's Bobby Hambel among the players, but somehow something else is missing. Perhaps they're a band you have to see live, perhaps that's where this polished blend of LOA, Type O, Alice In Chains and darkness and regret moves you. A classic on paper, but so far, only on paper. (6/10)

Ok, first off , to each is own right?. Personally I think the album sets it's own mood that not everyone WILL like , its almost like you really h ave to know Sals musical history to appreciate what tone he set for the album and what the songs mean and why he wrote the lyrics he wrote... That guy who wrote the review should get off the pipe...I guess thats his thing...
I'm not sure about that! I probably am the only follower on here who doesn't follow TON. Hell, I only know one song!  but I got the vibe set by Sal as soon as i played the cd. Back to the review you summed him up perfectly when you said he should "get off the pipe!"

yea I been following Type O for 10+ years

This kind of irks me. What kind of fuckhead goes out of his way to publish a review slamming a band?

"Almost brilliant"? No one said APHND was going to come out here and turn the world of metal on it's head.

They're just a heavy metal band. A GREAT heavy metal band. Plain and simple.

They're pretty original, too. I've compared them to other bands but only to describe their sound but they are in no way copy cats. There's nothing new under the Sun, right? It's no different than saying that Type O Negative is like a mash of Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd. "Stink Floyd", as Peter once said. Yet their sound is totally original.

This asshole can go back to reviewing shitty death metal bands with silly, squiggly names no one can read.

BRUTAL BATHTUB TOASTER EXECUTION!!!!!!!!

Not to say that I hate death metal. I love it. I love almost all metal music.

@dredmann

You should really look into Type O Negative more. I feel like I had to tell you this being such a huge fan.

Check out Bloody Kisses and World Coming Down.

I will check them out, my stepson is as huge fan and has quite a good collection he would let me borrow. Strangely enough with all the plugging i do of APHND he hasn't taken the bait yet being the definite connection.
that guy who did the review is probably some kid livin in his moms basement...
probably his bunny died and he needs to vent his shit...
