My Christmas went well for the most part. I got some nice clothing, boots, candy, a bingo game, a set of bedsheets, and a quesadilla maker for presents. My mom made a ton of food (spiral ham, broccoli, rolls, mash potatoes, gravy, cookies) and it was all delicious. We played bowling games all day on the Wii (that 100 pin game is something). Later on I went to go see Tron Legacy in 3D at the movie theater. The only thing that was bad was when my cat appeared to be having a seizure.

Permalink Reply by Holly Ellenbecker on January 9, 2011 at 9:50am I hate to be a downer. But I had the worst holiday I've ever had my whole entire life. My Grandpa died the day after Christmas after being sick in the hospital. The doctor gave him his options and he was with it and everything and he chose to go with life support. I visited him every chance I got before he passed away and brought my Grandmother every time there were visiting hours. We were even there when he finally did pass away. And I believe with all my heart he knew we were there talking about the snow his hometown was having. He wanted to see the snow again months back before he got sick. I am at the very least grateful I had a chance to talk to him before they put him to sleep to put him on the life support. I was able to tell him I love him and I was thankful for him taking care of and raising me and my sister because our parents did not. He told me he really loves us girls and he lived a good life. I was so thankful for that moment you cannot even believe. The family is doing ok, but we miss Grandpa so much. I really hope everyone else had a much better holiday. We have a nice little shrine dedicated to my Grandpa in the dining room next to the chair where he use to sit at with his sweater still on the back of the chair the way he had it before he went to the hospital. I know it wasn't such a great Christmas for my family, but at least we were given a chance to talk to him before he passed.
