Hey all,

I am moving my little brother down to DC this weekend and will be in the car a vast majority of the weekend. With that knowledge in hand, I have decided to make a playlist of must haves for the trip. Here is what I came up with - tried to make it a little abstract....

1) When Crows Decend Upon You - APHND

2) Bury Me In Smoke - Down

3) Suspended In Dusk - TON

4) Lost At 22 - LOA

5) Demons - Darkest Hour

6) Formula For Failure - Vision Of Disorder

7) Rocket Skates - Deftones

8) Last Walk In The Light - Seventh Void

9) Die Alone - APHND

10) Hope Remains - Times Of Grace

11) Fallen - Volbeat

12) We Hate Everyone - TON

13) The Warp Riders - The Sword

14) Dont Drag Me Down - Social Distortion

15) Chemical Warfare - Slayer (from the Big 4 Live CD)

What do you think? what would be yours?

I was actually looking at your list and thinking about new and old songs I need to get! LOL!  Need to get My Ruin back on my pc and check out Spinnerette.  I'm always looking for new music to listen to seeing as how much I have to drive every week.

Spinnerette - Brody really displays her vocal range on the album.

Hey Derek, I live in MD & worked in DC for a long time. If you need any info about the area, hit me up!

Wow, so much on my road trip list. Basically anything I play on #CodeBassRadio (www.codebassradio.com) I listen to in the car, as I'm often tuned into it w/ my Droid.  (What station plays more songs I like than the one I run myself! :)  So, you'd be apt to hear:

  • Type O, of course!
  • AIC
  • Zombie
  • Queensryche (DeGarmo era.)
  • Alanis Morisette's acoustic stuff
  • A library of the community tunes I promote on CodeBassRadio and in the player at (http://codebass.net) - talented array of stuff!
  • Mad Season
  • Godsmack
  • Creed
  • Winger
  • Great White
  • Black Label Society
  • NIN
  • U2
  • Dream Theater
  • Emilie Autumn
  • Journey
  • SRV, Dokken, Van Halen, Slaugher, Def Leppard...

A lot has to do with where I'm going, who I'm with, and the mood and scenery along the way. I tried to think of a list of specific songs for ya, but I could no sooner choose a favorite star in the heavens.

Will be very interested to see other people's lists.  Nice thread. :)

MOTORHEAD!! NO SLEEP TILL HAMMERSMITH!!!

It's a great road album. Really makes me want to haul ass!

Breakin the law! Breakin the law!   Judas Priest, I know. You get what I'm saying.

I tend to be all over the place (mentally, at least) when driving so I like to mix it up a lot.  I like:

Type O, LOA, Seventh Void & APHND (obvious)

Pink Floyd

Mazzy Star

Porcupine Tree

Katatonia

Alice in Chains

The Beatles

Carnivore

Danzig

Enigma

NIN

Opeth

Lacuna Coil

Soundgarden

and Elton John (yes, I fucking said that.)

Be safe!

the obvious: Type O, The Sisters of Mercy, APHND

others depending on the mood in various order:

Seventh Void

The Fields of the Nephilim

The 69 Eyes and Deathstars (I know I know...)

Danzig

Moonspell

The Killers

Carnivore

Monster Magnet

Motorhead

Siouxie

Backyard Babies

gee I really don't listen to too many things.

oh yeah and Lady GaGa!!!...awaiting comments on that

I tend to listen to whole albums rather than mixed CD's

1) Dead Again-TON

2) Master of Puppets- Metallica

3) Far Beyond Driven- Pantera

4) Divine Intervention- Slayer

5)And Hell Will Follow Me- APHND

6) The river runs red- LOA

7) Urban Discipline- Biohazard

8) Piper at the Gates of Dawn- Pink FLoyd

9) The Doors- The Doors

10) Life is Killing Me-TON

Discogs pretty much:

1. TON

2. TOOL

3. APHND

4. DEAD IMAGE (I can't get enough of that stuff)

5. PUSCIFER

6. CARNIVORE

Blend on 'shuffle', pour gently as it can melt your face off. Side effects include exaggerated air guitar solos, singing loud enough to wake the dead, and one fucking hell of a good drive.

Optional: Open sunroof for solar worship.

Really suprised i don't see Type O's cover of  "Highway Star" anywhere here.
