So, I'm trying to beef up my music collection on my new pc I got about a month and a half ago.  I've taken everything off my iPod and Zune, but can still use a new collection.  I put this in a previous blog, but my friend turned me on to Deadboy and the Elephantmen & Dax Riggs the other day, but I need some new tunes!

I've gotten all the popular things that everyone should own, but I need suggestions.  And I don't get into death / black metal shit.  I'm more of a Type O Negative, APHND (of course), Deftones, Tom Waits, Here Come The Mummies, Sublime, Soundgarden, Live type of guy.  Anyone have any suggestions to bands that I might not have heard of?  I play a lot of WoW and always have my music player going, so I need some new tunes.  Help me out, family!

Nick Cave rocks! I especially like The Mercy Seat and The Weeping Song.

I've heard the name Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, but never looked into them.  Didn't know they were on the same lines as Tom Waits.  I will have to check them out today.  Thanks dude!

If you like Tom Waits you might like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds too if you haven't checked them out already. Nick Cave also has a side band called Grinderman which are kinda neat too. Personally, I always enjoy Nick Cave and Tom Waits no matter what kinda mood I'm in :)

**laughs** Sonja was telling me that they did the music video for Midnight as a tribute to Black no. 1. We keep talking about covering Paranoid but I need to first get the bassline under my fingers. We're not going to streeeeetch it out the way TON did but we'll slow it down from the Black Sabbath version. Our husbands look at us when we have our Pete moments and roll their eyes, making snarky comments. I dunno why guys are so jealous of him anyhow? **giggles**

Thanks guys.  I actually am familiar with most of those bands (except Terminatryx and Tad)  Been a fan of Toad and the Wet Sprocket since they did a KISS cover on the album "KISS my ass".  And I "know" Better Than Ezra because they are from Monroe, LA, which is only an hour from me.  I did a radio show in Monroe for several years and they came back to their hometown often.

I checked out Terminatryx on Youtube.  You can DEFIANTLY tell they are influence by ToN.  Visually, anyway.

I find what I like already on YouTube and just click through links. It's led me to a lot of new bands by accident. I also browse Bandcamp by Genre and location. A LOT, and I mean a LOT of that music is FREE.

I know of Toad the Wet Sprocket. They're kinda old. I'll see about scoring some Terminatryx CDs at cost from Paul and Sonja, so I can spread the joy.
